Pampa Camarones could be reactivated next year

September 2017: An Environmental Impact Statement has been submitted for the Pampa Camarones mining project, and it is currently being evaluated.
Its approval would give the green light to reactivating this project, located in the XV Region. Minería Activa submitted a project to the Environmental Assessment Service on August 16, which will optimize and update its processes and facilities at an implementation cost of US$9.5M. The company intends to improve operating methods for the Salamanqueja deposit, including copper extraction and processing, in order to obtain higher grade ore.
